Yamaly moved to Cabarete at age 12, and has lived in Callejón de la Loma, a local neighborhood, her entire life. Determined to participate in Mariposa programs, Yamaly and her sister were members of some of the first cohorts, entering programs later in age (now all must enter programs at age 7 or 8). Yamaly graduated from Liceo Sábaneta de Yásica, as the first public high school in Cabarete did not open until 2020, and received a scholarship from the Mariposa Foundation to study Child Psychology at UTESA Puerto Plata where she spent two years.

Yamaly joined Cabarete Coffee Company in 2019 having had three years of restaurant experience under her belt. Yamaly loves working in the kitchen and learned to cook at home with her mother but has become an expert through experience in the Cabarete Coffee Company kitchen. In particular she is a fabulous egg maker and loves the tranquility that comes with her role behind the stove. Yamaly reflected that even during the times that Cabarete Coffee Company is super busy, she still finds peace in having her designated area to cook knowing that all food takes patience. One of five siblings and a proud mother to one son, Yamaly is resilient as she has faced many adversities and is grateful to approach life one day at a time with hopes that through her determination and hard workin she will create a better future for her son.
