Lee Ann Evans

Lee Ann Evans first came to Cabarete as a volunteer in 2005 and is passionate about supporting the community. With a background in the private and non-profit sectors, she brings expertise in effective messaging and communication, strategy development and execution, and budget management. She has years of professional experience in Latin America, having recently worked at Americas Society/Council of the Americas (AS/COA), as well as in investor relations and corporate development for an energy infrastructure company, where she focused on market entry in the Caribbean. She served as the senior policy advisor for Engage Cuba, a national coalition dedicated to advancing U.S.-Cuba relations, and was the Latin America political risk analyst for MUFG (Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ) in Washington, covering domestic politics, economics, and foreign policy in the region. She volunteers as an interpreter for Kids In Need of Defense. Lee holds a BA in Spanish and Anthropology from Cornell University and a Masters in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from New York University, for which she conducted research in Cabarete. She lives in New York with her husband and daughter.
