Fermin has been with Cabarete Coffee Company since the very beginning, joining the team in 2009 when its doors first opened. Having grown up in Loma Blanca and Madre Vieja, Sosua, before moving to Cabarete in the 80’s, Fermin is well known to many in the Sosua and Cabarete community as he is a talented musician who has performed all over the country. Aside from his many talents at Cabarete Coffee Company, Fermin plays the accordion, güira (a traditional Dominican percussion instrument used in merengue and bachata), drums, bongos, maracas, and bass guitar. He is the lead singer and musician of a 4-7 person band that plays at private parties, at restaurants and hotels, and can even be found playing on the beach of Sosua at times. Music is his passion (second to juice making, of course) and he will always invite you to come listen to him and his band members perform, so ask away! 

One of Fermin’s very first jobs was milking dairy cattle with his father. Fermin arrived to Cabarete Coffee Company with very little experience in the service industry and attributes the majority of his knowledge to founder, Patricia Suriel, for her patience and dedication to teaching him these skills. Fermin can now be found making smoothies, frozen drinks, and squeezing fresh juices nearly everyday. He takes much pride in his blended beverages and will always serve them with a large smile on his face! Fermin loves the energy at Cabarete Coffee Company, greeting visitors, and his unlimited supply of coffee. Fermin’s kind, goofy, and charismatic personality is what makes him both a staff favorite and a client favorite. A proud father to three and a grandfather to three (soon to be four), Fermin is a caring individual and family man who everyone loves having around. We are so appreciative of all that Fermin does.
