Bill Eichner is a retired ophthalmologist, farmer, and assistant to writer wife, Julia Alvarez. He currently resides in Vermont and spends time with his wife in the Dominican Republic. Founder of La Finca Alta Gracia, the 260 acre organic coffee farm is located just outside of Jarabacoa in the Central Mountain Range of the Dominican Republic
